WORKSHOP TIRANA

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Tirana organized an informative workshop on November 3rd at the Agricultural University of Tirana. The workshop focused on the PEVULOS project, and it was the first in a series of meetings planned for the project. The goal of the initial workshop was to update interested participants on the progress of the PEVULOS project. Members from various institutions were present at the meeting, including representatives from the Agricultural University of Tirana, University of Korca, and University of Milan. The PEVULOS project involves multiple partners and aims to achieve significant advancements in its field. Additional meetings will be held in member states of the project in the near future, indicating a broader scope and collaborative nature of the PEVULOS project.

The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Tirana, Prof. Rezart Postoli welcomed all the participants and provide a short presentation of the project. He was focused on the importance of these project and in how is going to be implemented. Following Prof Postoli’s welcome, Prof Gabriele Brecchia delivered a detailed presentation on the PEVULOS project. The presentation covered key aspects of the project, its objectives, and its significance for both participants and main stakeholders involved. Prof. Brecchia highlighted the strategies that should be employed by Candidate States to enhance food safety levels.

Additionally, Prof Asoc. Egon Andoni updated the participants on the progress achieved so far in developing the curricula for the specialized school associated with the PEVULOS project. Prof. Andoni also provided insights into the quality standards and the division of subjects over the course of two years, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of the educational aspects of the project.

It’s clear that the meeting served as a crucial platform for stakeholders to provide inputs and feedback regarding the opening of the program associated with the PEVULOS project. The fact that all the invited individuals expressed interest in the project and actively participated in a general discussion, asking various questions, indicates a high level of engagement.

The unanimous agreement among participants regarding the necessity to establish a school of specialization in Albania reflects a shared recognition of the importance of updating and improving knowledge in the field of food safety. The effective implementation of this specialized school is seen as a means to ensure food safety and to enhance the ability of professionals in the field.

It’s great that the workshop not only disseminated information but also fostered a productive exchange of ideas and perspectives among stakeholders.
